The price of a home solar system in Spain depends on the size of the system, the roof it goes on, the equipment chosen and the work around it. Two houses with the same number of panels can differ considerably in price because one has an easy roof and a short cable run and the other does not. That is why a price without seeing the roof is a guess, and why this page explains what goes into a price rather than giving one.
What you pay for
A quote for a home system is made up of the same building blocks every time:
- Panels. The number follows from your consumption; see how many solar panels do I need.
- Inverter. Converts the panels’ power for the house. A hybrid inverter that can take a battery costs more than a standard one.
- Mounting system. Rails, hooks or frames for your type of roof. Flat roofs with frames, carports and pergolas differ from a tiled roof.
- Cabling and protection. Cables from the roof to the inverter and to your electrical panel, plus the protective devices the regulations require.
- Labour. Usually a crew for a day on a straightforward house, longer for complex roofs or larger systems.
- Access. Scaffolding or a lift where the roof calls for it.
- Paperwork. The municipal notification or permit, the electrical certificate, registration and the paperwork for exporting power. Some installers include this, some charge separately.
- Optional extras. A battery, back-up for power cuts, an EV charger, monitoring hardware beyond the standard app.
- IVA. Check whether a price includes it.
What makes one house cost more than another
- System size. More panels cost more in total, though fixed items such as the survey, the paperwork and the crew’s day are spread over more panels.
- Roof type and access. Tiled, flat, high, steep or split over several levels.
- Distance. A long cable route from the roof to the electrical panel adds material and time.
- The electrical panel. Older installations sometimes need work on the earthing or the panel itself before solar can be connected.
- Equipment choice. Panel and inverter brands differ in price, warranty and performance.
- Battery and back-up. Usually the largest optional item.
Why we do not publish a price list
We could put a “from” price here, but it would say little about your house. We survey first, then put a written quote on paper that lists what is included, what is not, and the assumptions behind any estimate of production or savings. What you save is a separate question from what you pay; see are solar panels worth it in Spain.
Comparing quotes
Put quotes side by side on the same assumptions: the same kWp, comparable panels and inverter, the same scope of work and paperwork. A cheaper quote that leaves out scaffolding, the export paperwork or the electrical updates is not cheaper. Our guide on how to choose a reliable solar installer has a checklist for comparing two offers.
One customer who did exactly that wrote:
“We had asked several companies for quotes, but with Sunrise Energy we got the best value for money.”

Grants and tax
Tax benefits such as IBI reductions or an IRPF deduction change over time and differ per municipality and personal situation. We do not include any in a price unless we have checked that they apply to you. Background is on our page on financial and tax benefits; we check the current position for your address.
