Solar panels fitted to an existing carport in Dénia

Project story · Dénia

An existing carport in Dénia that now helps power the home

The brief

Use the space that is already there

Not every good surface for solar is a roof. This project used the top of a carport that was already there, so the owners produce electricity without touching the main roof or giving up garden space.

  1. 01

    The structure was kept

The carport did not need to be rebuilt; it was adapted to carry the panels safely.

  2. 02

    The panels serve the house

They are connected to the home’s electrical system, not a separate installation.

  3. 03

    One surface, two uses

The carport still gives shade, and its roof now produces electricity.

The installation

An alternative when the roof is not the only option

A carport roof usually does nothing. Here it produces electricity while the car keeps its shade underneath, and it is a natural place for an EV charger later.
