Solar for businesses and larger roofs in Elche
A workshop, a warehouse, a shop or a farm building uses most of its power while the sun is up. That is where a solar installation does its best work, provided it is sized to how the building is actually used.
Close to home
A local installer for Elche’s working buildings
We are based in Les Baies, in the Camp d’Elx, so Elche’s business parks, shops and farms are close by. A business roof asks different questions from a house: how much the building uses during working hours, whether the roof can carry the panels, and who has to agree when the building is rented.
We start with your consumption across the day and the week, not only the monthly total. Machines, cooling, compressors and lighting that run while the sun is up are what make solar worthwhile for a business. A building that stands empty in the afternoon is a different case, and we tell you so.
As an estimate, a well-placed system on this coast produces roughly 1,250 to 1,550 kWh per kWp per year (EU PVGIS data). What a given roof does depends on its angle, shade and when the power is used, which is why we look first and put figures on paper after.
For homes in the city and the Camp d’Elx, see solar panels in Elche.

Two ways to connect
With surplus or without surplus
A business can send what it does not use to the grid, or set the system up so that nothing leaves the building. Both are legal forms of self-consumption in Spain; which suits you depends on how steady your daytime use is.
With surplus
- What happens to unused power
- It goes to the grid and your retailer credits it, at a lower value than the power you buy.
- Paperwork
- Town hall, registration with the region and a compensation agreement with your retailer. Above 15 kW, or outside urban land, grid access and connection permits as well.
- Suits
- Use that varies: closed at weekends, quiet periods in the year.
Without surplus (zero export)
- What happens to unused power
- The inverter limits production so nothing is exported. Unused sunshine is simply not produced.
- Paperwork
- Town hall and registration with the region. No grid access and connection permits needed.
- Suits
- Steady daytime use that takes almost everything the roof produces.
The survey and your bills show which of the two fits, or whether a battery changes the picture.

More questions
Answers come from our own frequently asked questions, written by the Sunrise Energy team.
Do you install on business roofs as well as homes?
Yes. We install for homes and businesses across the Costa Blanca and Murcia. For a business we look at the building’s daytime use first, then at the roof.
Can a rented building have solar panels?
It can, with the owner’s written agreement. Who pays, who owns the system and what happens at the end of the lease are worth putting on paper before anything is installed.
Our roof is old. Is that a problem?
Not necessarily, but the structure is checked before anything else: what it is made of, its condition and whether it can carry the panels and fixings. If it needs work, it is better to know before the panels go on.
Who takes care of the permits?
We do. Joëlle prepares the town hall paperwork and the registration, and tells you what your retailer needs from you. Which documents are involved is on what documents you need.
Are there subsidies or tax benefits for businesses?
Sometimes, and they change. What is available at the moment is on subsidies for solar panels; we check what applies to your address when we prepare the proposal.

Sized to how your building works
Survey first, proposal after. Any figure before that is an estimate, not a promise.
