Palms and landscape
Solar panels among mature palm trees and vegetation
Elche’s landscape is strongly shaped by palm trees,
orchards and mature vegetation. This creates a unique
environment, but it can also influence the performance
of a solar installation.
Tall palms and other trees can cast shade on a roof
during part of the day. The situation may also change
over time as vegetation grows or is maintained. A roof
assessment carried out at only one time of day is
therefore not always sufficient.
Around the Palmeral and other visually sensitive areas,
we also consider the visibility and integration of the
system. The aim is to achieve reliable solar production
without unnecessarily disrupting the character of the
surroundings.
Shading throughout the day
We assess the sun’s path rather than only the
shade visible during the visit.
Future vegetation growth
Palms and trees may cast more shade as they
continue to grow.
Visual integration
The panel layout can be adapted to important
views and the character of the property.
Alternative locations
An outbuilding or carport may offer better solar
exposure than the main roof.
